Sharon Shilling-Frazier Lodeska (Cox)

Mar 7, 1936 – Jan 23, 2022

Sharon Lodeska lived a long and amazing life. She was a painter, sculptor, photographer, dancer, poet, and an avid theater and music enthusiast. She was a self-taught “handy-women” and builder, seamstress, gardener, camper and ardent DIYer. Sharon enjoyed reading, was a teacher as well as pursued and encouraged others to engage in life-long learning. She was politically active and contributed to many social justice causes. She was a lover of all thing’s nature, bird watcher and feeder of wild birds, squirrels, and other small furry friends. Sharon’s artistic eye saw the unique beauty in everything. In her own words:

“I do the laundry when I am out of clean washcloths

And the dishes when I’m out of clean spoons.

The rest of the time I’m creating

Back of my mind –creating!”

Sharon’s overall can do approach to everything—no matter what, taught us to tap into our creativity when solving problems big and small.  She had a profound impact on family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues throughout her life. She is loved and remembered by many, including: her siblings, 3 children (and their spouses), her 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She will be missed and remembered always. A remembrance will be planned for some time in late spring.
