Shirley S. Joseph, 95, Lawrence died on July 14, 2023.
She was born February 13, 1928, in Concordia, KS, the daughter of Edward J. and Marjorie Pearl (Wright) Locke.
She was a homemaker and a member of the PEO Chapter GQ and the Dow Janes.
She married Howard F. Joseph on September 11, 1950, in Concordia, KS. He preceded her in death in June 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and stepsister, Linda Locke.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Joseph (Randy Gfeller) and Margie (John) Kuhn all of Lawrence; son, Marc Joseph of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Laura (Ryan) Bell of Scottsdale, AZ, Amy Karnaze of Denver, CO, Cindy (Mauro) Berutti of Piedmont, Italy, and John Duncan Joseph of Phoenix, AZ.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Shirley’s name to the Lawrence Humane Society or to Douglas County Visiting Nurses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13 th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
