Memorial service for Stephen “Steve” Edward Atkinson, 60, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. Luke A.M.E. He died July 27, 2014 at his home.
He was born on April 2, 1954 in Logan, Kansas the son Cecil and Ruth (Greer) Atkinson.
Stephen enjoyed listening to Rolling Stones music.
He was an Operation Specialist Representative for Medicare.
He married Valerie Denise Cousins on October 7, 2005 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include son, Joshwa Atkinson, Lawrence; daughter, Sarah Atkinson, Lawrence; three sisters; Nancy Shockley, Topeka, KS Paula Cleanthous, Spokane, WA, Karen Herrmann, Milford, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Atkinson.
