“I ain’t mad at yay! I got nothing but love for you, so do your thing”- Tupac
Stephen “Stevie” Micheal Dice, 43, Eudora passed away at our country home on Friday Oct, 5, 2018, of natural causes.
He leaves behind his wife Rebecca A. Tompkins, whom he married Oct 8, 2005, on his parents 40 acre horse plantation in LaCygne, Ks.
Steve’s four children survive him, Taylor Ann (13), Paityn Rae (11), Stephen “Teven” Lee (9), and Kollyn JoLei (8).
Steve was an excellent fun charismatic Father and Daddy first and foremost to our 4 children. They were his heart. He would have chosen going to the park, swinging them and pretending they kicked him, throwing them in the pool or chasing/herding goats with them. He loved pulling the kids in the plastic swimming pool with the tractor or having a popcorn and movie night with them over anything else in the world. I believe being a Father was his dream come true.
He has been deemed for all eternity as the “funny uncle” who will put your shoes in the microwave, garnish them with ketchup, pretend to eat them or stick them on the ceiling fan. He loved to laugh and create laughter for everyone around him. During dinner out, everyone always knew Steve would return from the bathroom at some point with the longest trail of toilet paper on his shoe and walk around the entire restaurant until everyone was laughing.
He actively and avidly loved music. He always had a song to sing, especially if it annoyed the pre/teens in the house. His life’s aspiration was to be a white rapper, and he was a darn-good one. He worked on his music diligently, with some reluctance as in the back of his head touring never seemed a valid option. He never wanted to leave our home and be away from his family.
Instead, he dedicated his life’s work to becoming a successful small business owner and expert at Home Security, both online and with ADT. He also did a stent at Dex Media, which he felt was only to meet John White and other good friends he still cherishes today.
He was preceded in death by several of his beloved family members. His Mother, Susan Rushing (Macaluso), his Father-in-law, Gary Tompkins, and his Grandparents: Grandpa “Mac” (Nicklaus Macaluso), “Papa” Eldon Cook and Gloria Cook. Stevie’s mentors, whom we know are welcoming him with open arms. And they can now attend every Chiefs game from the sideline and every future KU basketball game from the rafters together again.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen Dice & Debbie Dice of LaCygne, his four children who are named above. His Mother-in-law, Deborah Tompkins, Topeka. His sisters, Jennifer (Dice) Williams (David), Overland Park, Nicole Dalton (Dustin), Lenexa. Sister-in-laws Jenny Bicknell (John), Kimberly McCourt (Micheal), and LeAnn Deters (Ryan) all of Topeka; his brothers, Travis Carpenter (Kelly), Leawood, Dave Earl Hall, Dallas & Florida; Grandama Theresa Macluso, Lenexa and Grandma Mary Cook, Olathe; Nieces and nephews, Olivia and Aldon Williams; Braxton and Kinley Dalton; Kayla Hutzell, Bailey, Emma and Carter Bicknell; Caden, Leila, Mary, and Owen McCourt; Ali, Will and Garrett Deters.
Shockingly Survived by Eminem & Adam Duritz, but currently partying upstairs with Tupac, Prince, and Michael Jackson.
Please excuse the music choices. It is what Steve would have wanted more then anything.
Dance, love, smile and laugh. That is what he would have wanted. Those are the things we will always remember and cherish sharing with Steve in this life until we meet him again.
“I just can’t sit back and wallow, in my own sorrow, but I know one fact…. I’ll be one tough act to follow” – Eminem
