Steven Paul Meseraull

Steven (Steve) Paul Meseraull, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. Steve was born in Kansas City, KS to Wilma Reynolds Meseraull and Paul Meseraull on November 2, 1944. Steve was married to the love of his life, Helen Meseraull on November 25, 1972. Steve is survived by his wife, Helen, his brother Clay (Carolee) Meseraull, of Lawrence, his children; Shelly (Matt) Stumpe of Wichita, KS, Doug (Karen) Meseraull of Cherryvale, KS, and Patty (Fletcher) Hamel of Holladay, UT.

His legacy continues through his 8 grandchildren; Joel, Ellen, Amanda, Jenna, Turner, Reece, Sam, and Daxton. Steve moved to Lawrence at the age of 10 and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1963. At the age of 16, Steve co-founded Meseraull Printing with his parents. Meseraull Printing offered the Lawrence area high quality printing for over 40 years. Steve served in the army national guard from 1965-1971.

Steve was a model railroad enthusiast. Hours were spent designing and decorating train layouts, engines, and train cars. Steve was an artist and excelled at the smallest details on his train layout. Steve was a founding member of the Lawrence model railroading club and served as its president for many years. For the past 5 years, Steve and his railroad enthusiasts’ friends have spent many volunteer hours devoted to the care and upkeep of the model train layout in Ottawa, KS at the Franklin County Historical Museum.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to support the upkeep and care of this model train layout so future generations may know about the trains that shaped Kansas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., at Bridge Pointe Community Church, 601 W 29th Terrace, Lawrence, KS 66046. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
