Steven Wayne Blair

 ** Steven Wayne Blair, 65, Lawrence, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home. An informal memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 10th at the Patio Garden Terrace at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, KS. ** 

Steven was born December 8th,1956 in Emporia,Ks, the son of Wayne L. and Mary A. (McMurphey) Blair. 

He graduated from Emporia High School in 1974. He attended Emporia State University. He was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He was a licensed real-estate agent for a few years in Emporia. He later moved to Olathe, Ks and started a painting company that he continued for many years until his health required him to retire. He moved to Lawrence in 2018 to be closer to his sister. 

He was a painting contractor for many years and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his sister, Debra and husband, Gayl Kaniper of Eudora, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made in Steven’s name to Friend of the Zoo in Emporia, KS or Veterans Memorial Park in Emporia, KS and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
