Susan Beers

A Memorial service for Susan A. Beers, 65, Lawrence will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawrence.  Following the service a celebration of Sue’s life will take place at 6 p.m. at El Mezcal 804 Iowa in Lawrence.  Private inurnment will take place at Clinton Cemetery.  She died January 25, 2012 at her home with her husband and family by her side.
She was born on May 14, 1946 in Wilmington, Delaware the daughter of John William and Lois (Davis) Allen.
Susan committed her life to the service of others as a social worker for The Salvation Army, Eckan, and Community Living Opportunities.
She married Lyle Beers, her soul mate on May 8, 1965 in Lawrence.  He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Amy and husband, Dan, Angela and husband, Paul, Jennifer; one son, Timothy and wife, Lindsay; three brothers, Dudley, Bill and David; grandchildren, Allison, Sydney, Claire, Dylan, Jake and Zachary.  She will also be missed by her two beloved kitties, Tiger and Lily.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to CLO and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
