Tanner Kendrick Byrne, age 33, passed away on May 23, 2026. Born on July 28, 1992, in Merriam, Kansas. Tanner will be remembered for his kind heart, strong spirit, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Tanner attended Eudora High School and was a proud member of the Class of 2010. Throughout his life, he was known as a fierce and loyal friend, someone who stood by the people he cared about and valued those relationships deeply. He brought laughter, loyalty, and compassion into the lives of his family and friends. Tanner had a way of making others feel welcomed and valued.
He enjoyed spending his time playing pool at D-Dubs, golfing, fishing, and hanging out with friends. Tanner also had a deep love for his dog, Chunk, who was a constant companion and source of joy in his life.
Tanner is survived by his loving parents, Brete and Julie Byrne of Eudora, Kansas; his siblings, Trey Byrne (Emily Rains) and Torey Byrne; his grandparents, Stan and Kay Byrne of Eudora, Kansas Kent and Eileen Stuart of Wichita, Kansas, and Dave and Connie Gibson of Iola, Kansas; his aunts and uncles, Brad Byrne of Eudora, Kansas, Chad and Jennifer Gentry of Rossville, Kansas, and Tyler and Leslee Brown of Wichita, Kansas; along with many extended family members, friends, and classmates who will forever cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Eudora CPA Park / D-Dub’s Bar & Grill in Eudora, KS on Friday, May 29th from 5PM to 10PM. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Tanner’s life.
While our hearts are broken here on earth, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and running with Chunk. He is deeply missed by all who shared in his journey. Though his time here was far too short, the love and memories he leaves behind will remain forever.
“Those we loved never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared and the memories we hold close.”
The family suggests memorials in Tanner’s name to Lawrence Humane Society.
