Terry Eugene Tuttle passed away peacefully Friday, June 13, 2025, in Lawrence Kansas.
Terry was born in the spring of 1940 in Manti, Utah. He was the son of Eugene Adelbert and Lillie Virga (Olsen) Tuttle. He was an adventurous boy with an inquisitive mind who loved the outdoors. He had many stories of adventures going awry and often told he was lucky to make it to adulthood. His inquisitive mind led to disassembling many things around the house, ultimately sparking his interest and education in engineering.
Terry graduated from Manti High School in 1958. He joined the Army National Guard that year where he trained as an Artillery Survey Specialist. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jensen in 1959. They moved together as Terry finished his education. During this time, their family continued to grow with the birth of Tamra in 1960 and Todd in 1961. After graduating from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1962 the family of four moved to Loveland Colorado for Terry to be one of the first engineers employed by Hewlett Packard at their new branch outside of California. Russell joined the family in 1964 and Teresa in 1967. He then completed his Master’s of Science in Applied Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University. His love for the outdoors led to many mountainous adventures and the role of Scout Master. He married Carolyn Weber the fall of 1984. Together they retired from Hewlett Packard and designed/built their mountain dream home in Glen Haven, Colorado, where they lived for 30 years. He said he had no greater joy than hiking the mountain behind his house with his dogs twice a day rain or shine. Carolyn and Terry moved to Lawrence, Kansas, in 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tuttle, children, Todd Eugene (Colleen) Tuttle of Sparks, Nevada, Russell Terry (Barbie) Tuttle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christine (Bruce) Bridgeman of Great Falls, Montana, Teresa (Doug) Miller of Lawrence, Kansas, 18 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren, and sisters, Edythe Smit and Carol Jean Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tamra Cox (daughter), Nancy Jensen (former spouse), Melva Lund (sister), Marjorie Osborne (sister), and Steffan Terry Tuttle (grandson).
