Thelma S. Bowman

Funeral services for Thelma S. Bowman, 90, Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

Thelma was born April 3, 1926 in McCallsburg, IA the daughter of Arthur Nelius and Hannah Gertie (Heng) Twedt.

She has been a resident of Lawrence since 1961.

She was a registered Nurse, loving wife and mother.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She married Everette Eugene Bowman August 31, 1948 in Radcliffe, IA. He preceded her in death March 4, 2016.

Survivors include her son, Jim (Darlene) Bowman, Windsor, CO; two daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” Bowman, Kansas City, MO, Bonnie (Bill) Moss, Lawrence; and sister, Lillian Bush of Iowa. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Grace Johnson.

The family will greet friends at noon one hour prior to the service on Saturday the 22nd at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of donor’s choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
