A celebration of life for Tommy C. Jackson, 77 of Lawrence, will be held July 28 th . The visitation will be between 2:00 and 4:00 at the Carnegie Building (9 th and Vermont) in Lawrence, Kansas. Tom passed away Monday, July 24 th , 2017 in Topeka.
Tom was born May 9, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas to Ted and Ollie (Mondy) Jackson and grew up in Fredonia, Kansas. He moved to Lawrence in 1964, and that would become his home for most of his life.
Tom made an impact upon everyone he met, from his decades as an automotive mechanic, working and making friends with fellow mechanics all across town, to his brothers and sisters of the Lawrence congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Tom passionately used every opportunity to preach the word.
Tom’s memory will live on through his wife Lori Jackson, of 39 years and through his sons. Tommy Jackson Jr., Tustin, CA, Darryl Jackson, Orange, CA, Kevin Jackson, Albuquerque, NM, Craig Jackson, Topeka, KS, and Darin Jackson of Lawrence, KS. His memory will also continue through his siblings, Jeanie Anderson, Jerry Jackson, Ted Jackson, Theron Jackson, Marlon Jackson, Nan Johnson and LaDonna Jackson-Martinez. And, through 5 grandchildren, and 16 nieces and nephews.
Tom joins his parents, his brother Bill Jackson, and his son Randall Jackson in the loving memories of their family.
Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family to help in this difficult time, and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
