Services for Travis Lee Sawyer, 44, Gardner formerly of Lawrence will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to noon prior to the service on Friday. Burial will follow the services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Travis passed away on April 23, 2026, in Merriam, Kansas.
Travis was born November 28, 1981, in Watonga, Oklahoma, the son of Greg Sawyer and Robin Diveley.
Travis was a member of the C&A tribe; he was also an avid KC Chiefs fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. Travis will be remembered as a caring and tender-hearted person, who loves animals, was meticulous in keeping a clean car, everything had a place in his man cave, and there was never a shortage of shoes and hats.
Travis worked for a metal fabricator in Olathe from 2011 to 2021, he then completed the HVAC training at Johnson County Community College.
Survivors include his father and mother, Greg and Donis Sawyer; his mother, Robin Diveley; his fiancé, Ashley Jones, his daughter, Alia Jones; his stepbrother, Lex Cortes, half-brothers, Brandon Diveley, Gordon Williams, II, his half-sisters, Shanhona Williams and Laura Williams; two nephews, Gavin Albright and Max Hewlett, two nieces, Amiya Sawyer and Cecilia Sawyer and his dog, Mac and many other aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ashley Sawyer and Jaclyn Sawyer and his two dogs, Scout and Holly.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wayside Waifs and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
