Tyler Scott Wise

Memorial services for Tyler Scott Wise, 36, of Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Warren McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He was killed in a tragic single auto accident on April 26, 2019.

Tyler was born May 19, 1982 in Lawrence, KS to Scott Wise and Kristi Steeples.

Tyler graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2000, and proudly served his country as a United States Marine during Operation Iraqi Freedom. While serving in Ar Ramadi, Tyler was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.

He married Melissa Martin on June 19, 2010 on the Wise family farm near Linwood, KS. She survives of the home with their son, Colton David Wise.

Additional survivors include his parents, Scott & Kamie Wise, Linwood, KS; his mother, Kristi Nyberg, Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Holly Kilian (John) and Shelby Bindeman (Wylie) both of North Carolina; Step-Brother, Nick Young (Mackenzie), of TX, Step-Sister, Michelle Peterson (Drew) of DeSoto, and Step-Brother, Marshall Miller of Linwood; Paternal Grandparents, John and Carolyn Wise, Linwood, KS; Maternal Grandparents, Duane & Carol Steeples, Zurich, KS. In addition to numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tyler’s name to Colton D Wise College Fund and may be sent in care of Warren McElwain Mortuary.
