Funeral services for Velma Mae Jahn, 88, Eudora, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery. Velma passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.

Velma was born on December 29, 1929 in Newcastle, NE, the daughter of Albert and Christina (Johnson) Biggerstaff.

She married Raymond William Jahn January 27, 1951 in South Sioux City, NE. He preceded her in death January 16, 2006.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawrence, Quilters Guild, and The Red Hat Society of Eudora.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vickie (Donald) Schafer, Pacific, MO, Jody Jahn, Eudora; two sons, Michael (Chris) Jahn, Linn Valley, KS, Ricky Jahn, Sioux City, IA; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Mary Thompson, Yankton, SD, Bonnie Rouse, Vermillion, SD; and two brothers, Delbert Biggerstaff, Houston, TX and Glenn Biggerstaff, Sioux City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Melvin.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary- Eudora Chapel in Eudora, Kansas.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
