Virginia E. Rimel

Funeral services for Virginia E. Rimel, 96, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Inurnment will be at a later date. Virginia passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

Virginia was born December 6, 1918 in Northeastern, PA the daughter of Claud & Tillie (Davis) Jones; however, she was adopted and raised by Luther “Luke” and Etta Dangler.

She was a member of the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God.

She was a homemaker and a minister’s wife.

She married Reverend Philip E. Rimel on June 25, 1942 in Meadville, PA. He preceded her in death March 17, 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Terry and husband, Wendell, Lawrence, Virginia White, Brownsville, TX; one son, John Rimel and wife, Nena, Nevada City, CA; daughter-in-law, Beth Rimel, Fredonia, KS; ten grandchildren, Albert, Ginger, Audrey, Debby, Philip, Lisa, Danny, Tiffany, Justin, Erin; many great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Philip Rimel II, December 27, 1972 and son-in-law, Marion White.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Monday the 26 ^th at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
