Virginia Longacre

Memorial service for Virginia Mae Longacre, 90, Falls City, Nebraska, will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Falls City, NE.  Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.  She died September 19, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 30, 1922 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Carl and Freda (Urban) Knott Lincoln.

Virginia was the secretary for the City Engineer office in Falls City for many years, retiring in 1987.  She also was the assistant Librarian at the Lydia Bruun Woods Memorial Library before working in the city offices.  She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

She married Marvin E. Longacre on November 9, 1943 in Peoria, IL.  They later divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Frank and wife, Teresa, Broken Bow, OK and Larry and wife Pamela, Eudora, KS; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
