Graveside services for Warren G. “Bud” Best, 88, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery. He passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home.
Bud was born May 19, 1929 in Stanley, KS.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 24 th Infantry Communications Division as Sargent 1 st Class.
He was a member of the Masons #6 in Lawrence, Scottish Rite of Lawrence, Abdallah Temple of Kansas City, KS, American Legion Post #8 and VFW #852.
He was an installer at Western Electric and then worked in quality control for AT&T until he retired September of 1984.
Bud married Helen A. Montell August 6 1953 in Kansas City, MO. She preceded him in death September 4, 2010.
Survivors include his daughter, Terry (Jim) Rood, Lawrence; one grandchild, Dan (Cyndi) Rood; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Allison; and a half- sister, Winfred Tidd, Lawrence.
