Wayne Mckenzie

No services are planned for Wayne C. McKenzie, 83, Alamo, TX.  Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, KS.  He died on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen TX.

Mr. McKenzie was born on January 13, 1926 in Liberal, MO, the son of Charles F. & Dorothy Holt McKenzie.  He had lived for many years in Eudora, KS.

He was a World War II, U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. McKenzie was the lead operating engineer at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO for sixteen years.  He retired January 13, 1988.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge South Gate #547 in Kansas City, MO and the Isadore Hoean V.F.W. Post #7397 in Lenexa, KS.

He was married to Alice A. Burns on January 13, 1974 in Miami, OK.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters; Glenda Harp of Hebronville, AR, Verla Harrell (husband, Bill) of St. Louis, MO, a son, Kevin McKenzie (wife, Donna) of Leavenworth, KS, a sister, Louise Vick of DeSoto, TX, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
