Willard G. Ridgway

Funeral services for Willard G. Ridgway, 86 of Lawrence, KS, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He passed away on April 20, 2018 at Baldwin Healthcare. He was born on January 15, 1932 in Tonganoxie, KS to Merle and Mary (Gallagher) Ridgway.

He retired from Aeroquip in 1991. Then he worked at Lawrence High School as a custodian retiring in 1997. After retiring, he enjoyed taking trips with his family and treasured spending time with his grandchildren. He loved working outside and fixing things. He also enjoyed tinkering with projects in his garage. He was an avid KU Fan!

He married Wilma Jean Morris on July 22, 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma of 63 years; daughter, Connie Hadl (Steven) of Baldwin City, KS; granddaughters, Jessica Hadl of Lawrence, KS, Ashley Coverdale (Austin) of Merriam, KS; grandson, Justin Hadl of Baldwin City, KS; and sister, Mary Merlene Avery of Lawrence, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Damon, identical twin brother, Wayne; and sister, JoAnne Powell.

The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th at the mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
