Willis Myron “Bill” Mack, 88, formerly of Kansas City, died September 20, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Lawrence, KS following a brief illness. He was born in 1929 in Kansas City, MO and spent most of his life in the Kansas City, KS area, living in rural Linwood, KS from 1973-1989.
He graduated from Shawnee Mission HS in 1947. He received a B.S. in business from KSU in 1951 and served in the US Army from 1951-1953.
He married Shirley Smoll in 1950. They later divorced. He worked for the Mack Lumber Co. in Argentine, KS until it closed in 1988. He later drove for Arrow Trucking and Renzenberger Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willis Warren Mack and Kamilla Thiel Mack, stepmother Charlotte Allen Mack, and brothers James and Warren Mack.
He is survived by his children, James (Lon) Mack of W Sacramento, CA; Toby (Nan) Mack of Sacramento, CA; Lori (Mark) Lange of Lawrence, KS; Richard (Kay) Mack of Centennial, CO; brother Schuyler Mack of Overland Park, KS; eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service at 11:00 a.m., visitation 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21 at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3312 Calvin Dr., Lawrence, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials in his name to Visiting Nurses Hospice, 200 Main St. Suite C, Lawrence, KS 66044.
